I was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, on May 4, 1981. I came to the U.S. mainland (North Carolina) when I was roughly 12 years old. My first fascination was with the English language and how it facilitates access and information gathering.
I spent my formative years in North Carolina–first in Newton Grove where I attended middle- and high school, and then in Cullowhee where I finished my undergraduate- and graduate careers. As an undergraduate, I majored in English with a concentration in professional writing and a minor in Spanish. Additionally, I remained at my alma mater (Western Carolina University–UNC System) where I earned my Master of Public Affairs & Administration.
The purpose of this blog is two-fold: a personal excercise and a learning experience.
